History
The Vermont Log Sauna Company owner and life-long builder Nils Shenholm began researching authentic Finnish Sauna design in 1986—and completed the first wood-fired light frame prototype of the Solhem Sauna in January 1990; this design is still in production today.
These Saunas were built and completely finished in the shop and transported to the new owner's site, ready to use the same day! This convenience was appreciated by all, but the travel logistics meant that we were limited to serving customers within a 250-mile radius of our shop in Central Vermont: folks living outside of the delivery area had to make other arrangements.
Our first log Sauna was completed in 1995, and many different variants of that time-proven design have been completed since. Based in the Green Mountains of Vermont-I have partnered with a family-owned sawmill that I have worked beside for nearly 25 years.
